Arsenal Frustrated by Resilient Everton in Goalless Stalemate

Arsenal’s dream of the title took a hit as they were also held to a 0-0 draw by Everton’s desperate defence at Emirates Stadium. Jordan Pickford’s brilliant rescuing performances and Everton’s strong unit at the back disappointed the Gunners, who are now in third place on the league table.

Everton got a sniff with a decent opportunity, but Abdoulaye Doucoure’s effort was kept out by Gabriel Magalhaes. Arsenal eventually took the control, with Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard came close. Bukayo Saka shot was cleared and Mohammed disseminate shot was parried by Pickford.

Pickford made a number of important saves, including one exceptionally good save to stop Saka’s volley in the second half. His was an important input for Everton’s clean sheet and he was very well helped by James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Arsenal to be a problem for the manager Mikel Arteta if they do not when they should have will. The Gunners managed 13 shots in goal, but could not score. Thanks to the draw Arsenal have 30 points from 16 games and Everton rises to 15th place.
