Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham to miss up to 12 weeks with shoulder injury

Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Real Madrid, is anticipated to take up to 12 weeks off recuperating from a shoulder operation. The Spanish powerhouses said on Wednesday that the procedure went well.
In a statement, Real Madrid said, “Our player Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for a recurrent left shoulder dislocation.”

“Bellingham will now begin a period of rehabilitation prior to his return to recovery work.”

Although Madrid did not provide an estimated time frame for his recuperation, Spanish media outlets have stated that it will take approximately 12 weeks for him to resume his activities.

After dislocating his shoulder during a La Liga game in November 2023, Bellingham has been dealing with shoulder pain ever since. He has been wearing a brace under his shirt.

The England midfielder postponed the procedure until after Madrid’s summertime Club World Cup participation, in which Xabi Alonso’s team advanced to the semifinals.

Bellingham will miss the team’s first two Champions League games as well as the La Liga trip to play rivals Atletico Madrid in late September.

By the time Madrid hosts Barcelona in the season’s first Clasico in late October, the 22-year-old midfielder ought to be back in action.

At the Club World Cup, Bellingham remarked, “I’ve reached a point where… I’m tired of the brace, and having to tug on it and having (other) players tug on it, and it rearranging all the time.”

The midfielder will also miss World Cup qualifiers with England against Andorra and Serbia on September 6 and 9, respectively.
