Recap

After defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2, Manchester United has now won three straight Premier League games, which was inconceivable just a few weeks ago. This is their fourth consecutive home league triumph.

With two goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford to record their third straight Premier League victory.

With one of the game’s last touches on Saturday, Mbeumo put an end to Brighton’s late push, forcing United to withstand it.

The course of the match
Cunha took advantage of Casemiro’s layoff to curl a finish around Jan Paul van Hecke in the 24th minute after forcing a fantastic save from Bart Verbruggen earlier.

Ten minutes later, Casemiro changed roles from provider to scorer. The Brazilian’s attempt took a vicious deflection off Yasin Ayari and wrongfooted Verbruggen after Luke Shaw intercepted a clearing to set him up.

The goalkeeper for Brighton made excellent saves to keep out Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko, but he was powerless to stop Mbeumo’s low shot into the right-hand corner to give United a third goal.

Welbeck’s brilliant free-kick in the 74th minute gave Brighton hope after Mbeumo’s attempt was saved on the post. Kostoulas then set up a nerve-wracking finish with a glanced header in the second minute of stoppage time.

However, Mbeumo took advantage of the gap in front of him, running past two defenders to slam home as Brighton surged forward in an attempt to equalize.
